Joe Hill, de auteur die eerder schreef over Art de opblaasbare jongen (Pop-Art) en over Judas Coyne, de verlopen rockster die via eBay een geest koopt (Heart-Shaped Box), verhaalt in zijn nieuwste boek Horns over een man die op een ochtend wakker wordt met hoorns op zijn hoofd. En waar papa Stephen King zo’n set-up onveranderlijk zou verknallen, weet Hill wél hoe je een fatsoenlijk einde aan een verhaal schrijft. Topschrijver. Heus.

Kijk, dit vind ik nou mooi. Panic! At The Disco komt over anderhalve week met een nieuw album en maakt voor de gelegenheid een korte film. In zes minuten horen we wat fragmenten van nieuwe nummers en zien we… iets. De acteerprestaties zijn maar matig, er valt grotendeels geen touw aan vast te knopen, maar één ding is zeker: in al die onnavolgbare verwijzingen worden een paar mensen goed te kakken gezet. Iemand een idee hoe en wat?

“Basically, this means that TPH still plays the same interesting mix of styles; death-metal that is sometimes surprisingly melodic which does not shy away from lingering borderline-doom metal segments and wherein fusions with symphonic metal and electro sound remarkably natural. It is a description that does no justice to the music, but every comparison would be off and every metaphor would sound forced.
